I love watching Foodnetwork. It is seriously my favorite channel I think. Last week they had a holiday special which featured recipes from Paula Dean, Robert Irvine, Guy Fieri, and Tyler Florence. Tyler made a yummy grilled pizza. He put a bunch of crazy toppings on it though… so John and I just used normal toppings: Canadian Bacon and Pinapple on my side and Pepperoni and Sausage on John’s side.
So, all you do is make the pizza dough as normal. (Be sure to shape the pizza in an oblong fashion so it’ll fit on your grill). Turn the grill on as high as it will go. Then spread some extra virgin olive oil on the grill with a paper towel. Place your dough on the grill and spread some olive oil on the top side also. Tyler Florence said to make sure you aren’t messing with the dough while it’s cooking or it won’t get the good grill lines on it. We found about 6-8 minutes on each side was perfect. The put the dough on a cookie sheet, top with sauce and toppings. Then we put it in the broiler until the cheese was melted.
